Frankincense is a stimulant, and the essential oil in steam has been used for bronchitis and laryngitis. The antioxidants in frankincense help to fight aging. The monoterpenes are anti-inflammatory, antiseptic, and astringent; and the sesquiterpenes in frankincense can help oxygenate the pineal and pituitary glands. Frankincense is currently being used in European hospitals to improve breathing, fight tumors, battle depression, treat acne, and prevent scarring.

Myrrh has been used since ancient times as a pain-killer, and recent studies at the University of Florence in Italy have isolated two compounds in myrrh-- furanoeudesma-1,3-diene and curzarene--with analgesic effects.

Instructions: Just dissolve around one-half to one cup (one package has a "rounded" two cups) in a hot bath and soak.

Although herbs and essential oils can be therapeutic, they can also be dangerous--many of our most powerful drugs are derived from plants. The product descriptions describe benefits and side effects that some people have noticed using similar combinations of ingredients.
