Homemade Bath Salts

"I believe in getting into hot water - it helps keep you clean."~G.K. Chesterson (1874-1936)

Just click on a link to the left for more information about a specific kind of bath salts.

In addition to feeling and smelling out-of-this-world, our bath salts are a healthy way to pamper yourself! Just try it once and you'll see for yourself. Our homemade bath salts are a combination of epsom salts, sea salts, milk, and essential oils.

Epsom salts are full of magnesium, an element your body needs to regulate more than 325 enzymes! Magnesium also helps the body with energy production and muscle control, and helps to eliminate poisons from the body. The National Academy of Sciences reports that most American men get just 80% of their recommended magnesium, and American women get only 70%. Soaking in epsom salts is an excellent way to raise your magnesium level, and has been shown in at least one study to be more effective than nutritional supplements. Raising your magnesium level can:

  • improve your circulatory system, nervous system, and heart health,
  • improve your body's ability to use insulin,
  • raise your calcium levels,
  • improve your body's ability to bind serotonin--leading to better relaxation and a better feeling of well-being,
  • make muscles less sore.

Our bath salts also contain sea salt, which is a coarse grained salt that contains extra minerals. These minerals can be good for your skin, and sea salt in general helps to pull toxins from the body.

The lactic acid in milk is an alpha-hydroxy acid--it loosens dead skin cells to make your skin softer. The milk also helps the water to foam, for a great feeling long lasting bath!

Our bath salts come in an attractively and earth-friendly bag that is 13 oz. (by weight) or a little more than 2 cups (by volume).
